Meet Captain Brent Forsberg
Captain Brent Forsberg is a native Oregonian born in Portland in 1945 and raised in Scappoose. He attended Oregon State University and graduated in 1969 with a BS in Fisheries Science.Worked for a construction company on a water piledriver in the Portland area for two years while on a leave of absence from school. Worked for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for 30 years and retired in 1999.
Career positions included: marine fish research for Albacore Tuna and Groundfish; department coordinator for state in-water development permits and landuse plans; project leader for Oregon’s portion of a four state rivers information system; and a Geographic Information System programmer for fish and wildlife data.
Married to Molly J. Forsberg since 1974, also a native Oregonian from Hood River they have three children Lynda 40, Carrie 41, and Jeanette 42 and six grandchildren. Retired in 1999, they sold their house in West Linn, OR and have been dividing their time between their motor home traveling around the US and their 40 foot sailboat in Mexico.Earned a US Coast Guard 100 ton near-coastal Master’s License in 1997 and started a yacht delivery service on the West Coast called Northwest Yacht Deliveries.
Was first mate on the Crystal Dolphin, an 85 foot dinner cruise vessel plying the Willamette and Columbia Rivers in the Portland OR area.Started as Captain of the Desert Belle in October 2006.
Meet Captain Bill Connors
Bill Connors was born near the Jersey shore and loved the water immediately. He moved to Minneapolis at 8 and then began to explore many of Minnesota’s lakes and rivers. He got his first boat at 17 and got hooked. The he moved to Seattle for 25 years, living on the 125’ retired ocean tug Annie Sue. He had an electrical power equipment business for 14 years, much of it performing in the marine industry. He also owned and worked the 37’ log tug, Chemanus Yarder for 12 years. While in Seattle, Bill attended and graduated from the Trident Marine College in both Engineering and Navigation. He has many years experience as a marine engineer, pilot, and various deck positions with both pleasure and commercial craft.
